Rafael Tobias Aguiar was a Brazilian liberal and military politician. Rafael Tobias Aguiar was the son of a family of farmers and started early in public life, becoming one of the liberal leaders of the city of São Paulo. He was one of the leaders of the Liberal Revolution of 1842. As a military man, he was the creator of the Public Force of the State of São Paulo and one of the idealists of the National Guard.
The documentation informs that Rafael Tobias Aguiar in 1854 had land in the Itararé region. In addition to a coffee farm in the village of Parnaíba – “on the other side of the river” -, where Brigadeiro was the owner of “thirty enslaved young and robust men”.
